Pokemon Tower Defense 1 Strategies

Knowing Your Attacks

PTD Targeting Options

Each Pokemon has a type and an attack element. Understanding their balance and correlation is crucial for battle preparation.

The type determines strengths and weaknesses. Steel types have the most resistances (11), while Rock types are weak against 6 types.

Attack elements are detailed in each move. Combining type advantages with attack elements maximizes damage.

Pokemon can learn attacks of different elements than their type, providing versatility.

Learning New Attacks and Choosing Your Abilities

Each Pokemon has four ability slots for skills that can be learned through leveling up or using TMs/HMs.

Relearning skills costs 1000 Pokedollars. Overwriting skills allows flexibility in adapting to different challenges.

TMs/HMs offer powerful moves and abilities. They are crucial for specific challenges, allowing strategic flexibility.

Having a variety of attacks, support skills, and defensive abilities prepares your team for diverse scenarios.

Choosing Who to Attack

PTD allows prioritizing attack targets:

  • Regular: Attacks nearest enemy until defeated or out of range.
  • Fastest: Targets fastest-moving enemies.
  • Slowest: Focuses on slow, high-HP enemies.
  • Least Health: Targets enemies with the lowest health.
  • Most Health: Focuses on enemies with the most health.
  • Super Effective: Targets enemies weak against the Pokemon's attacks.
  • Ignore Red: Ignores enemies once they reach critical health (red bar) for easier capture.
  • Focus Candy: Targets enemies carrying items (like candies).
  • Ignore Candy: Prioritizes attacking enemies over those carrying items.
